Your photos stay on your device

Last updated: [date]

NumisPair is made by [company name]. This policy explains what information the NumisPair apps and website handle. In short: when you combine photos, they are processed on your own phone or computer and are never uploaded to us. Only when you ask us to identify a coin is that photo sent to us.

Photos

  • NumisPair processes your photos entirely on your device. The background removal runs inside the app, without an internet connection.
  • We never receive, store or see your photos or the images NumisPair makes from them.
  • The phone app asks for permission to use the camera, and to add the combined image to your photo library. It only opens photos you choose.

Identifying a coin

  • When you use Identify a coin, the photos you choose are sent to our server and passed to Anthropic's Claude AI, which identifies the coin. Anthropic doesn't use them to train its models.
  • We don't keep your photos. We keep the identification we sent back, so you can see your recent Identifications.
  • Identify a coin sets one cookie with an anonymous id, so it knows how many Identifications you have left. It isn't used for advertising or tracking.
  • To check that free Identifications come from a person, not an automated script, the page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at your browser and connection. Cloudflare handles that information under its own privacy policy.
  • To buy Identifications or a Collector plan, you sign in with your email address: we email you a one-time code. We keep your email address so your Identifications and plan work on any device, and use it only for signing in and messages about your purchases. The codes are sent through Resend, our email provider.
  • Identification packs and Collector plans are paid through Stripe. For Collector plans, Stripe also asks for your name and billing address, and a phone number if you choose to give one. Stripe keeps these and your card details; we receive confirmation of the purchase.

Purchases

  • Purchases in the phone app are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.
  • Desktop and Pro licenses are sold through [Paddle or Lemon Squeezy], which processes the payment and sends your license key. They share your name, email address and order details with us so we can support your purchase.
  • To check a license key, the app contacts the license service with the key and a device identifier.

What the apps don't do

  • No account is needed.
  • No advertising, and no advertising or tracking tools.
  • We don't sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you.

Website

Our website doesn't use analytics, and the only cookie is the one Identify a coin sets (above). Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a short time.

Children

NumisPair isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@numispair.com. California residents have these rights under the CCPA.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
